When you open grainhaus.app, the page loads to a vintage camera body sitting on a cream background. Click the silver power button on the right side of the body. The browser asks for camera permission. Once granted, the viewfinder comes alive through the lens glass — you see what your webcam sees.
To take a photo, tap the red shutter button on top of the camera body. The captured frame is drawn into a hidden <canvas> element and the chosen filter is applied instantly.
The Polaroid Eject
After capture, a virtual Polaroid slides out of the slot below the lens. It hovers in front of the camera for about two seconds — long enough to feel like real film developing — then drops into the Pin Board. The animation uses a subtle motion curve that approximates the way an actual Polaroid accelerates as it exits the camera.
You can add a caption to the Polaroid in the eject paper before it finishes developing. Once it's on the board, the caption is locked in.
The Pin Board to Keep
The Pin Board is the cork-board view at the bottom of the screen. Every photo you've taken lands there, pinned at a slight angle, the way you'd push a thumbtack into cork. You can drag photos to reposition them, click one to expand it full-screen, and delete any you don't want to keep.
